Hello everyone,
I’ve been researching mattresses lately because my current mattress is starting to feel uncomfortable, and the Saatva Classic keeps appearing in discussions about premium innerspring mattresses. I wanted to share my research-based thoughts and also hear from people who have actually used one.
?️ First Impression
What caught my attention about the Saatva Classic is that it doesn’t follow the typical all-foam mattress design. It combines an innerspring construction with a cushioned 3-inch Euro pillow top. According to Saatva, the mattress uses a dual-coil design intended to provide responsive support while maintaining airflow.
That sounds appealing to me because I don’t particularly enjoy the feeling of sinking deeply into memory foam.
⭐ Comfort Options
One feature I really like is the choice of three firmness levels:
Plush Soft – softer and more cushioning
Luxury Firm – balanced support and comfort
Firm – noticeably firmer and more supportive
The Luxury Firm option seems particularly interesting for couples because it is designed to work across different sleeping positions.
? Support & Construction
The Saatva Classic also includes Lumbar Zone® Technology in the center area of the mattress. Saatva describes this as providing additional support around the lumbar region and helping promote spinal alignment.
I also like that the design has a more traditional responsive feel. You can move around without feeling like you are trapped inside the mattress.
?️ Breathability
Another potential advantage is airflow. The coil construction and breathable cover should make it interesting for people who dislike mattresses that retain too much heat. The official specifications also mention a breathable cotton-blend cover.
? Pros
Pros I noticed during my research:
Multiple firmness choices
Traditional innerspring feel
3-inch Euro pillow top
Strong edge support
Responsive construction
Breathable design
Lumbar support technology
? Possible Cons
The biggest question for me is the price. This isn’t positioned as a budget mattress, so I think buyers should carefully consider whether premium construction and service features justify the investment.
Also, people who specifically love the deep-hugging sensation of memory foam may prefer a completely different mattress style.
? My Verdict
Overall, the Saatva Classic looks like a strong option for someone who wants the combination of traditional spring responsiveness and luxury cushioning. It seems especially worth considering if you prefer sleeping “on” a mattress rather than sinking deeply “into” it.
I’m still deciding between Luxury Firm and Plush Soft, though!
Has anyone here actually slept on the Saatva Classic? Which firmness did you choose, and would you recommend it?
