Has Project Advisory Helped Anyone Prevent Bigger Problems Later On?

I was involved in a discussion recently about a project where several small issues eventually turned into major challenges, and someone mentioned that early Project Advisory support might have helped identify risks before they escalated. I have never worked with that kind of guidance directly, so I am curious whether bringing in outside advice early genuinely improves decision making or if most problems can still be managed effectively by the internal team. For those with experience, what aspects of project advisory proved most valuable, and would you use it again on future projects?
