Smelled coolant for a week and finally found the puddle, Ford Explorer woes
#1
Thought I was imagining things at first because I kept getting this faint sweet smell in the garage but the temp gauge was holding steady so I just chalked it up to someone's car next to me at the signal but nope, pulled out of my parking spot at Khalidiya Mall yesterday and there was a little green puddle right where my front bumper had been sitting and my stomach just dropped. It's a 2017 Explorer Sport and I've already done the water pump a while back so I'm really hoping it's just a crack in the plastic end tank on the radiator or maybe a loose hose clamp because I cannot mentally handle another massive cooling system bill right now. I was stuck waiting for a tow and just scrolling through my phone trying to get a ballpark on what this might set me back and honestly it feels like a good time to just explore professional auto services instead of rolling the dice with some random shop in Mussafah that might throw in some generic radiator that doesn't fit the Ecoboost right. Anyone dealt with a radiator swap on these Fords here and have a rough idea what the damage was, I'm just trying to brace my wallet before I get the official quote.
